Mr ALAM was a delight to have a consultation with regarding my right knee replacement. Mr ALAM was very forthcoming with information including any risks and the possible disadvantages involved. The operation was perfect in every way, almost pain free. I was able to discard my crutches after four weeks and was strong enough to resume caring for my handicapped wife 24/7 after eight weeks. I cannot speak too highly of the service I received at the Oaks Hospital in the hands of Mr ALAM

A great surgeon and gentleman answers any questions you might have honestly I found I was totally relaxed in his hands my operation went well and now I am almost pain free and can move my knee as good as new I was cared for very well in the time I was in hospital under his care and would not hesitate to be in his care if I should need further surgery I can think of anything that could improve on my treatment

Mr Alam carried out an arthroscopic meniscal resection on my right knee following a riding accident in 2017 I had consultation with Mr Alam following an MRI scan during which he explained my scan results and my treatment options, the surgical process and the recovery time, he answered all my questions and ensured that the operation was scheduled to work around my work commitments. Before the op I Mr Alam took time to explain what would would be happening and to ensure I had no concerns, afterward he explained what he had found, showed me photos of the key areas and explained my recovery time and likely outcome. One month on from the operation I am well on the road to recovery and very happy with the result. I would highly recommend Mr Alam and if I find myself in the situation again I would not hesitate to go back to the Oaks and seek treatment from Mr Alam.

I am a 70 year old female with a badly worn knee due to complications following a road accident 50 years ago. I was very pleased to find Mr Alam on this page. Mr Alam immediately knew just what to do, not just to replace my knee but to improve the overall alignment of the leg and this he has done. I had my T.K.R. at The Oaks Hospital, Colchester on 5th Feb. 2018. I must say that I could not fault the whole experience. The nursing staff are so caring and helpful day and night. My every need was met and the room was excellent. My operation went smoothly and I was home in four days. By this time I was able to manage quite well on crutches . I followed the pain management advice and did not find it a problem, even sleeping quite well at night with the help prescribed. I write this at six weeks. I have just had a gentle walk around the park with a stick and I am delighted with my progress so far. This week I even went up and down a flight of stairs, foot over foot, with the guidance of the physiotherapist. I feel very grateful to Mr Alam for his skill and expertise.
